So a little pun intended with my post title. I have always loved Fall. My favorite season as I’ve mentioned oh I don’t know, 3,627,421 times. But this fall, It’s FALLing into place and I couldn’t be happier.

Duncan found his favorite spot to chill… it’s FALLing into place

Heading out for a birthday dinner and to celebrate my move… it’s FALLing into place

I’ve been taking some time to reflect over all that’s happened so far in 2018. From helping my sweetheart get his business up and running, to getting back into a running rhythm and finally feeling like those pesky toe issues are behind me, to selling my home and moving to New Jersey and living with someone again after so many years. I had some rough patches during some of these life events but I’m finally seeing how my future life looks. I’m finally feeling like I’m at home. And I’m finally starting to accept this whole turning 45 thing.

Say hello to my specs. They are for reading menus and text messages on my phone.

spent my birthday enjoying the beautiful fall foliage around the neigborhood with a little run

November started out with a warmish day and i stopped a bunch to take photos of the fall foliage….again…because i’m obsessed.

Seriously. This is unfiltered!

And because i didn’t get enough of running surrounded by the fall colors I had another fall foliage feast running through Cheesquake State Park a few days later…

Happy

Fall running is the best

Oh and then on the day of the NYC Marathon I went for my own run. Only 22.2 miles shy of a marathon but enjoyed the golden hour an hour earlier thanks to daylight savings…

For my birthday, I treated myself to the new iPhone XS and am obsessed with taking pictures using portrait mode…

Hello and Happy Birthday to me!

Mr. SOTSS knew how much I wanted my own bathroom and while he technically had 2 bathrooms, one was severely neglected. It had a pea green tub and sink, linoleum tiles that were separating, stained drop ceiling tiles a light fixture that only partially worked, and very moldy caulk around the tub surround. Needless to say it was very unappealing. But we invested some sweat equity and gave it a lift.

We had the tub re-glazed white and re-caulked, bought new fixtures/knobs and a new shower curtain. Oh and a new ceiling too.

Duncan approves of the new floor.

I painted the room in Benjamin Moore’s Coventry Gray which is the same gray I had in my old bathrom. We got a new vanity that I LOVE. I bought the stacking seagrass baskets to store extra TP and towels. The sunflower is a photo I took on a trip to Block Island a few years ago. New Light fixture too!

some floating shelves with crushed seashells, a little fake plant that looks real enough for me and some souvenirs from Italy that Mr. SOTSS’ mom brought me.

A budget vignette… I drove to the jersey shore for some sand and shells for the vase. And the lotion…my fave…was a birthday gift. Candles from Pier 1 on clearance.

Here’s a few pics of the bathroom before the facelift:

I got to check out a winery here in New Jersey with my friend Lisa. It was a great girls’ day out and we’re definitely going back.

Cheers to a girls’ day out

Hi there from Laurita Winery

I took a peek at where I’m at financially this year and I’m so relieved to know i’ve surpassed last year and still have some freelance checks that’ll be rolling in before year-end. It’s scary to be a freelancer.

Even the dogs think it’s FALLing into place. Duncan chose the top “bunk” 🙂

Yep… it’s FALLing into place. My heart is full.

  2. So happy for you.
I don’t Insta … and I’ve missed hearing from you.
    Glad all is going well.

    • Thanks. Yeah, I find it hard to squeeze out some time to blog so posting photos to Insta is my usual jam but sometimes when I need to work on a creative work assignment and I feel stale i’ll blog and i swear it gets the creative juices flowing. At least I know there are still a handful of people out there who read it.
