First, let’s talk about the Boston Marathon. It’s always so inspiring to watch. And boy could I feel for those runners in the cold and wet weather.

I streamed the marathon on my computer while at work and while I watched the winners cross I was called away from my desk and missed seeing Meb hold hands with that elite woman. Thank god it was posted everywhere! He’s the bomb. I think if I could meet any runner I’d pick him.

OK, so tonight when I came home from work I walked the dog for about 30 minutes and then i took off for my run. It’s probably the penultimate of my training cycle. I’m hoping to squeeze one more easy peasy 2 or 3 miles on Thursday or Friday.

Now because I’m starting to get into my obsessive all about that base marathon mode I looked up the weather forecast first.

looks good to me!

And then, because I’m a numbers geek, I went to see how many miles I logged last year in preparation for the 2014 NJ Marathon and how many little I ended up running for the 2015 NJ Marathon.

hmmm, less than half of the miles as last year.

Yikes! I am so undertrained! But I’m still so excited to run. I’m actually looking forward to hitting the wall boardwalk in Asbury Park at mile 20.

I just yawned so I better wrap this up and what better way than with cute doodle pics…

Sloppy sit!

If you could meet any elite runner who would it be?

Are you a numbers person? Do you look at your running statistics all the time?

  1. I really enjoy reading your blog. You have an inspirational story and great advice. I’m running the NJ marathon this weekend as well. I’ve had to fight through some silly injuries but determined to finish. Best of luck and have an awesome race!!

    • Thanks Drew! Looks like we’ll be in the same boat. Determination will get us to that finish. Best of luck to you!!!! By the way if you see a woman screaming loud at mile 16.5 with sweedish fish that’s my sister-in-law. She’ll have plenty. =)

  2. That has to be one of the most beautiful sky backdrops I’ve seen! :))) LOVELY!

  3. I would love to meet Kara Goucher! I love the picture of your dogs cuddling. We’re thinking of getting a second dog as a companion to us and to our current dog!

  4. The weather does look PERFECT for Sunday (I do better when the weather is cooler and I was afraid it was going to be too warm for my taste)! Good luck to you and have so much fun!

  5. I actually met Meb last July! He came to Atlanta and was at the Peachtree Road Race Expo. He chatted with me and my son, and he was so gracious and kind! You would love speaking with him!
