I just wanted to pop in and wish you all a Happy Holiday season. I probably won’t be posting again until the new year. Thank you so much for coming here to visit.

I design my holiday card every year. It’s a creative outlet I look forward to and dread each year but somehow I figure it out. Duncan was the star of the card again this year.

This blog is another creative outlet for me and it’s really awesome when I hear from you and feel like I’ve got a little bonus world of friends.

Not much has happened since I told you about the Big Chill 5K earlier this month. Well Richard the elf and Jingles, his reindeer sidekick have been busy…

As a matter of fact I haven’t run a single mile since. I’m still nursing my poor feet. Bursitis, tendinitis….whatever I have, it’s so frustrating. But I do a bit of improvement in the last day or two so maybe by 2018 I’ll be ready to run? One good thing about all my injuries this year is that I don’t even think I fee sad anymore. My expectations have plummeted and I’ll just be happy to run at all next year.

I haven’t even been to yoga in over a week. And the last hike I went on was 3 weeks ago.

Since I’m on a running hiatus I thought I’d share some of my silly neighborhood holiday decorations runs with you.

Well, I’ve got a client call in 22 minutes and then it’s work.work.work. I’m thrilled to be so busy in Q4 but it’s hard to find the time to enjoy the spirit of the season.

Here’s to a happy and healthy new year! I wish you all strong bodies and minds and less stress.

Happy Happy Holidays!

What is your most favorite part of the holiday season? Least favorite?

  1. Your card is fantastic – I always love when people add a little humor to their holiday greetings :).

I do love the holidays, especially more so since having kids, though sometimes the chaos stresses me out a bit! We host my husband’s family on Christmas Eve, my mom and brother’s family Christmas Day, followed by my dad and step-family over New Years. It can be a lot to balance, but I do love all the togetherness and filling our house with loved ones (though I’ll admit that I usually breathe a sigh of relief when it is all over).

Re: running, I’m right with you in really not feeling sad about being injured anymore. This is just where I am right now, and I think any miles that I get to run in 2018 will feel like an incredible gift!

Enjoy the holidays! Hoping 2018 brings you healthy feet and more than a few happy miles 🙂

  2. Enjoy the holidays too!! Hope 2018 brings you lots of running and yoga and dog snuggling!!

  3. Wishing you a very happy holiday! Thank you for taking us along your adventures on your blog. I do hope your feet start to feel better. I am planning to continue my running break for at least another month to make sure my hip is healthy again. I am happy to be walking, swimming, cycling, rowing and weight training. It will be nice, though, to get back to running. Hands down my favorite part of the holiday are the lights. I plan my workouts in the morning to find the houses that have the best lights! My least favorite part is the chaos that is every store and parking lot. My new year goal is to try one new recipe each month! I get in cooking ruts big time so this will challenge me to be creative.

  4. That is the best card I have seen all season! Happiest Holidays, Sally!

  5. I absolutely LOVE your Christmas card! It is so cute! I haven’t sent cards in probably 7 or 8 years. I had to simplify my fall/winter (my anniversary is mid November, my son’s b-day is Jan 1, my husband’s b-day is beg of February. Throw in Thanksgiving and Christmas, and I needed less on my plate). My favorite part of the holiday season is time with family. My least favorite part is all of the people who seem to forget their holiday cheer at home and act like lunatics all December! Merry Christmas!

    • What a busy time of year! Hope you did get quality time with your family… I am so sorry I didn’t reply sooner. Bwah!
