Well Happy Sunday to ya!

I mentioned Friday night that I was thinking of joining a local running group for a trail run yesterday. Well, I am happy to say I went and had a great time.

takin’ it to the trails

I always hesitate to run the trails by my house because I’m afraid I’ll get lost. But having a dozen people leading the way (I stayed at the back of the pack mainly because I hate feeling like I’m slowing someone down but also because I can pay attention to how they handle the terrain. I’m a smart cookie. Plus, it makes for easy and covert blog photo taking =)

We covered almost 4.5 miles. (I actually forgot to turn my Garmin on for the first 1/4 mile.) and boy did I feel invigorated.

I spent the remainder of the day yesterday cleaning my house and preparing for holiday decorating. And just after I finished vacuuming the living room we had a casualty. Buffalo down!

This morning I woke up to Duncan’s butt in my face.

I went out early to take some photos for my friend and her hubby for their Christmas card and this little guy basically posed for me

Then I started to decorate my porch when I discovered another of my white wicker reindeer bit the dust this year! (I lost one last year too)

But crisis was averted. I made a quick trip to Target and got this cute little snowman and a string of lighted pine cones. I like it!

and of course the doodle decoration on the other side of the front door =)

photo 5While I was at Target I bought a bunch of gifts for some charitable events I’m going to. Saturday I’m running the Big Chill 5k. The cost of entry? A new unwrapped toy. And I’m sponsoring an economically challenged child named Joshua. He asked for art supplies, a sweatshirt and an mp3 player. Done!

I’ve decided to take a few days off from running. My knee is definitely sore and I have some stiffness on the opposite ankle. It’s a good thing I’ll be so busy with work, and more holiday decorating. I’m hoping to do my tree this week.

P.S. I’m still loving my Garmin Vivofit. Even today without running I still managed 11,000 steps.

If you could get 1 gift this season what would it be? I really want a good pair of hiking boots.
